Bristol Hotel is located in the so-called “Old Town� at former Boulevard St. (and Roosevelt St., nowadays – the one street among CIS ), the building what was built at 60-s XIX ct.

Just nearby is Ignatenko Street, the first in Yalta, a bit uphill one can see the golden cupola of St. John Chrysostom Cathedral, one of the first Orthodox churches built in Yalta after the annexation of the Crimea by Russia. A hundred feet away once stood Yalta’s first customhouse where on September 17, 1837 proclaimed Yalta a city.

In the first half of the 19th century M.A. Rybitskaya, wife of a titular counsellor, buys from the Most Serene Princess M.V. Vorontsova a plot of land at 12 Boulevard Street on which the architect K. I. Eshliman erects a two-storey building. On completion of the house M.A. Rybitskaya opens the Hotel Yaltinskaya in this new building. It was one of the first hotels in town.

At the end of 1860s the building and the yard (with household construction) the Main Management of Lots had bought it, which had the property of imperial’s name. It was the building just for the imperial family’s guests. It was called the “Big Yalta’s Houseâ€�.  In 1905 Yuzefovioch D.A. acquired the building and gave it the new name – “Bristolâ€�. After 1917 the building was transferred to municipal property. In 1927 Yalta was affected by a severe earthquake which measured 8 degrees on a 12- degree scale. And the hotel was not actually damaged because of the high quality of  construction. Before and after Word War II the building was used as a hotel.

With the history of the hotel connected such names as N.P.Wagner – the scientist and writer, M.S. Schepkin - the great Russian actor, A.M. Gorky – the Soviet writer, M.V.Nesterov – the artist, I.Gasprinsky - the famous apostle, V.A.Lugavskoy – the poet. 

�fter it was reconstructed in 2002-2003 Hotel Bristol was certified as a tree-star hotel with all demands of international standards.
